LANDSCAPE
ACHITECTS BOARD REVOKES LICENSE
At
their first board meeting of 2006, held February 3rd, the Board
of Landscape Architect Examiners voted to revoke the certificate
of qualification to practice landscape architecture for Donn
B. Angus, Cert. No. 1040.
This
matter began on or about February 27, 2004, when Mr. Angus pleaded
guilty to the charges of grand theft, a felony of the fourth degree.
This occurred in the Summit County, Court of Common Pleas, on
or about November 4, 2002, through on or about, September 8, 2003,
and involved his former employer, the Akron Zoological Park.
Mr.
Angus, while employed as the Director of Projects and Planning
for the Akron Zoological Park, used zoo funds and property for
his own personal use. This action was a fraudulent and deceitful
act.
After
an investigation, the Board charged Mr. Angus with violating Ohio
Revised Code sections 4703.41 (C), 4703.41 (F) and Ohio Administrative
Code sections 4703:1-3-04 (D) (3) and 4703:1-3-04 (E) (3) for
pleading guilty to charges of fraud and deceit in the practice
of landscape architecture.
After
an administrative hearing, the hearing officer found Mr. Angus'
conduct to be an egregious breach of professional standards and
ethics and further recommended the Board revoke Mr. Angus' license
to practice landscape architecture.
The
Board orders Donn B. Angus to immediately cease and desist
- Any
further use of the aforementioned designations,
- Performing
any of the aforementioned work, or
- To
in, any way hold himself to be qualified and permitted to
practice as a "Landscape Architect" in the state
of Ohio.
Donn
B. Angus must stop using any advertisements, letterhead, business
cards, signs, and all other materials that improperly portray
Donn B. Angus, as a "Landscape Architect."
The
Board will notify the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration
Boards (CLARB), American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA)
chapters, and local newspapers of the action taken against Mr.
Angus.
